Dear Learners of Cognitiveunderstandia,

As we do not have access to our free write journals, we thought it would be useful to provide you a platform by which to express ideas and thoughts in your quest to continue your growth as a life-long learner. In engaging this space, you will have the opportunity to build upon writing strategies and enhance your skills as a writer. To that end, each day we will place a point of reference to offer inspiration and a focus by which to compose your thoughts. We look forward to the applied imagination that will be posted in this forum.

Sincerely,

Dear Writers,

Jack London was an adventurer and writer who lived quite an interesting life that was founded on a quest to understand and a desire to grow as a learner. What are your thoughts about his quote ?

Sincerely,

Mr. Miller

Dear Writers,

Robert Frost was a poet that spent much of his time observing and writing in order to understand society and philosophy. He chose to use poetry as a vehicle to express his thoughts on those issues. Below you will find a famous line from one of Frost’s pieces; it is a line that always brings great inspiration every time I read it. What are your thoughts ?

Sincerely,

Mr. Miller

  1. Dear Emily,

How can you relate this quote to specific actions in your own life ?

    Thanks for Posting,
    Mr. Miller

    1. Dear Mr. Miller, Mrs. Halloran and fellow peers,
The want to learn is an intrinsic feeling developed by the minds determination. In Jack London’s quote he expressed how we shouldn’t waste our time but work on something great. An example of me living and not just existing is me taking the time to learn the piano. Learning the piano was a passion I always had, with all this time at hand I chose to seize the moment and learn something new. So far I have learned many scales and I am very happy I did, I hope that someday I will become a professional pianist. I wish for everyone else to express their endeavors on the blog, that way, we all can improve our writing and learning skills throughout the time we are at home.

      Sincerely,
      Emily Varghese

      1. Dear Emily,

Thank you for your post. There was no doubt in my mind that you would take the time at home as an opportunity to grow as a learner. Best wishes on your quest to become a professional pianist.

        All the Best,
        Mr. Miller

P.S. : I think you meant “living” not “live.

  2. Dear Mr. Miller, Mrs. Halloran and fellow peers,

“I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.”

When I think of Jack London’s quote, I can feel his want to explore the undiscovered, and I believe everyone should feel the way, always on an adventurous path of learning. When Jack London was expressing that he “would rather be a superb meteor” I think it meant how he wanted to go further than ever before, finding endless journeys throughout his life, and how he didn’t want to waste any valuable time that can be spent on understanding something new. To add on, I think that when Jack London was saying “every atom of him in magnificent glow than a sleepy and permanent plant” it shows every part of him has a shine, a bright thought, than someone or something that doesn’t try to reach for the stars or try everything in their capability to achieve the highest of all.

    Sincerely,
    Emily Varghese
