  1. Dear Mr.Miller,
After watching and listening to the videos I would think the men decided to travel on because the supply ships didn’t return. Also because there was no sigh of a struggle or any thing left behind. When the supply ships went back and saw the carving C-R-O the men probably put it there to tell the supply ships that something happened or they left.

    Sincerely,
    Azlynn Long

  2. Dear Mr. Miller
I really liked how on the tree when people at the Roanoke were missing it had a carving that said
-C-R-O- which brings an even more mystery.

  3. Dear Peers,

Resources. The information found on this link is very important and useful. I think you should reaserch on some theories on what happened to the colony of Roanoke. Looking at the Fast Facts I believe that the colony’s disreperence involvesd the war with Spain 🇪🇸.Have fun with the research.

    Sincerely,
    Issac Varghese

  4. Dear Mr.Miller,
I liked learning about Roanoke, it was very mysterious when all the evidence the people found was CRO carved on a tree. I found interesting when the supply ships just came back from Roanoke, and then a war was going on with England and Spain. Roanoke was an exciting topic to learn about in social studies, I am very curious if archaeologists will ever find bones or some other evidence in the future.

  5. After waching the videos on ROANOKE it seems that in one of the videos it shows about 4-5 crosses in the ground. Also, in that video the beginning of that video it showed some people who where probely part of the ROANOKE and they disappered and the wood strucure behind them broke. It showed a stick or branch had the word croatoen and the first three letters where cro and cro was the name of the first colony Sir Walter Raliegh esablished. But I have a theroy tha all 117 women, men, childern died in the war with Spain or maybe they didn’t have enough supplies and thy died.

    1. Dear Ben,

Make certain to follow the blog writing structure when submitting a response.
In your statement, do you have evidence to support the notion that Sir Walter Raleigh’s first colony was on Croatoan island ?

      Sincerely,
      Mr. Miller

  6. Dear Mr.Miller
When I was watching the video The Colony Of North Carolina I recognize that the man Sir Walter Raleigh, his last name Raleigh and that capital of North Carolina so I was wondering if he became really important that his last name became the capital.
    Sincerely,
    Gianna Sacco

    1. Dear Gianna,
Yes, the capital of north Carolina was named after Raleigh and it was not just a coincidence. I came across this information somewhere in the research about Roanoke that I did, though I am still not entirely sure about why the capital was named after him.
      Sincerely,
      Samuel

  7. Dear Mr.Miller,
I saw on this page that one sentence stated “Raleigh’s first colony”. I remember when I was studying with the cohort of the states, capitals and presidents we did the North Carolina capital and it was Raleigh. I looked at one of the videos and it said “The colony of North Carolina” so now it all is making sense to me.
    Sincerely,
    Gianna Sacco
